Hummingbirds in the snow!

I found this post on Bella's Rose Cottage and was shocked to see the hummingbird in the snow.

I mentioned last month

the Anna's Humming bird is a year round resident here...

The other hummers leave but the Anna's are unique..

Their diets change to include insects

and their heart rates slow a bit during extended cold spells

so they don't need as much food...

They are of course glad to find a sip of sugar water 

and are a treat to watch...
